Everyone is in the gray on the fp, until a FP author follows you. It takes time, and many good comments.

Even I show up as grey until I come back to it. It's really disorienting.

I think it must be part of its posting process, but coming directly from "grey = comment unseen until unlocked" in the previous version, it might not be the best.

I’ve decided to just give up. I’ve been posting on Jalop for several months and can’t get ungreyed. It’s a pity because Jalop could be the greatest online community of car nuts— and instead it’s the best community of 500 ungreyed out commenters and totally worthless for anyone else to contribute. Screw it— not worth my time to post, or anyone who just remains in the grey in perpetuity.

Yeah I’m about to make a post about it - they’ve greyed me after years of being a contributing user, and have refused to take me out again. Meanwhile, I’m approved on Jezebel...despite everything I’ve said about them. Pretty close to finished.
